Subject Matter Expert in Early Childhood Education

Job description

We are seeking a subject matter expert in Early Childhood Education. This is a highly creative role, with focuses on research and analysis to determine and iterate product specifications to internal teams, and guide the product from an idea to reality, including involvement with sales and marketing strategies. The ideal candidate would have thorough understandings of both substantive content (early childhood practices, pedagogy, and theory) and research skills and show promise in his or her ability to develop modes of inquiry suitable to the field’s complexities to be presented on a technological platform.


What you will do:

  • Be the subject matter expert in the Early Childhood space when developing and managing new products
  • Determine regulatory and/or compliance considerations to be taken into account through the product life cycle
  • Identify, translate, prioritize, and inform important product questions with data
  • Stay up to date about the Early Childhood industry's continued changes and updates that can potentially impact the products we manage
  • Based on experience in the industry, drive ideas to help address customers and/or partners pain points
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or changes
  • Assess market trends that can help address unique opportunities to drive continued added value and differentiation
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing
  • Participate in determining product pricing and marketing/sales strategies by utilizing market research, reviewing production and sales costs, anticipating volume, ROI and product specifications/customizations
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Capable of crafting simple, dependable data pipelines and automated reporting to surface relevant metrics

Requirements

What you will need:

  • Masters degree or higher in Early Childhood Education
  • 5 years of experience developing commercial Early Childhood products and curriculum
  • 5 to 10 years of teaching experience in a preschool or headstart setting
  • 3 to 5 years of experience managing preschools or headstarts
  • 3 to 5 years of experience development Ed-Tech products for early childhood (Preferred)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience aligning curriculum with state and headstart curriculums (Preferred)
  • Experience using Scrum and Agile disciplines is a plus
