Genius Plaza is currently seeking a hardworking, accountable, and self-motivated RFP Consultant in the Educational field with 5+ years experience who is willing to step up to the plate. PreK–12 experience is ideal, but if you have experience in RFP’s from another industry, we are willing to consider as well. In this role, you will provide essential support to the sales department at a rapidly growing educational software company.

This position also manages the development of the proposal ensuring response is organized, persuasive, and accurate by communicating with all company departments and developing an awareness of company practices, technologies, vendors, and the industry as a whole.

What you will do:

  • The primary role of this consulting position will be to analyze Request for Proposal (RFP) and grants (suitability, feasibility, delivery) and prepare time sensitive RFP proposals and applications of varying scope and complexity for submission to State, Municipalities, School Districts and Schools.

  • This individual will work with established teams within the company as required.   They will also be responsible to present completed RFPs to management.

  • The candidate must have a successful track record securing RFPs.

  • Collaborates with internal staff from multiple departments such as sales, marketing, HR, technical/product teams to ensure content is complete and accurate

  • Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of proposal templates, document library and FAQ repository

  • Obtain executive, legal, and financial approvals for document responses as appropriate

  • Approach work with meticulous detail, owning the roles of tactician and strategist

  • Delegate project elements to other internal team members as needed and appropriate

  • Produce high quality proposal packages for submission to prospective customers

  • Taking multiple elements of feedback from various departments and consolidating into a concise response while ensuring adherence to corporate messaging, branding, and technical content accuracy

  • Working closely with Managers and Directors to identify and qualify various proposal requests (RFP’s, RFI’s, RFQ’s)

  • Cross-trained with the Implementation department (Implementation Specialist)


What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 5+ years of PreK-12 Educational (grant, RFP) experience

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully writing and managing proposals in response to RFP’s

  • Strong general computer skills

  • Experience and proficiency with Google G Suite products

  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products

  • Ability to work independently to build process and systems around proposal and RFP management

  • Able to multitask on projects and tasks while working independently and efficiently

  • Self-motivated, perceptive, and organized

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Able to adapt to new processes and systems quickly, and identify opportunities for improvement
