Community Manager (Social Media)

At Genius Plaza we are working towards igniting the genius in every child, most importantly with underserved markets.  To do so, we are building interactive digital platforms for teachers and students across the world. To better serve our global market, we are looking for a Community Manager of Social Media who will use her or his knowledge, skills and abilities to work collaboratively with other members of the marketing team and cross-functionally with sales and education to build and execute Genius Plaza’s social media strategy, resulting in a forward thrust of Genius Plaza as social media leader in the industry.  The Community Manager should have a strong creative mind and understanding of brand positioning in order to help communicate the brand voice and aesthetic to a wide demographic across all social platforms as well as a thorough understanding of the intricacies of each social channel to optimize strategy and messaging to effectively engage the audience.


What you will do:

  • Create, curate and promote day-to-day content across Genius Plaza social channels 
  • Build relationship with advocates and influencers to create organic opportunities for partnership and engagement 
  • Help shape and grow Genius Plaza’s brand identity across key channels
  • Grow and track Genius Plaza’s social footprint
  • Align with Marketing to create social media plans for launching new products, supporting focus products/lines, or launching campaigns.
  • Direct and implement the day-to-day operations related to Social Media with responsibility for building a robust and aligned content calendar, operating metrics, and creating processes that support engagement

Requirements

What will you need:

  • 3+ years of experience copywriting and working on social media
  • Strong demonstrated creative eye, sense of design and aesthetic across social media platforms 
  • Active social media user (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter) with experience producing engaging content and building an audience
  • Proven track record of growing social media followers with high levels of engagement, as well as the ability to articulate how the platforms grew
  • Experience working with design tools, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, is a plus
  • Experience creating storyboards for digital content or social campaign
  • Ability to quantify and analyze success using various reporting and analytics tools
  • A willingness to work around key events calendar, including the potential to work evenings and weekends
  • A passion for continuous improvement and skill development
