Product Manager - Education Technology

Job description

Our team is seeking an experienced Product Manager to build a new team focused on developing new education technology products, from idea conception, to development, to marketing and sales execution. This is a highly creative roles, but with focuses on research and analysis to determine and iterate product specifications to internal teams, and guide the product from an idea to reality, including involvement with sales and marketing strategies.

What you will do:

  • Determine customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or changes
  • Assess market competition by researching industry competitors and products
  • Focus on obtaining product market share by working with sales/marketing teams to determine sales/marketing strategies
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing
  • Determine product pricing and marketing/sales strategies by utilizing market research, reviewing production and sales costs, anticipating volume, ROI and product specifications/customizations
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies


What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business related field
  • 5+ years experience in product management within Technology companies
  • 3+ years experience in related work within Education Technology is highly preferred
  • Experience with market research, new product idea proposals and analysis, and product development strategy and execution
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing industry trends, and iterating technical requirements to development teams
  • Experience working with marketing/sales to determine and execute routes to market
  • Experience leading a team, reporting to executive level staff, and functioning in an independent role while acting as the subject matter expert
